I recently had to have new garage door openers installed. Purchased Chamberlain lifters with MyQ smart garage support. The lifters we bought do not support Home Kit, though there is an add-on hub that can be purchased for $70 to enable Home Kit connections.
I found the following Reddit thread with example shortcuts that almost* worked perfectly. They provide the access for opening/closing/status I was seeking via Shortcuts. Problem solved and saved $70.

- the App ID referenced in the Reddit shortcuts is out of date. Edit the Setup shortcut and replace the App ID with the following:
