Using NFC to start or stop toggl timer

Hey there,

I am wondering if it is possible to set up an automation to log the time I spend on my drum kit using an NFC tag and a Toggl timer? When I sit down at the kit I swipe the NFC tag and that starts the time and then when I’m done swipe it again and that will stop the timer.

Possible?

Hi @mattduffy941, I guess it depends on what your time tracking app enables.
I myself use the Timing app and its associated web recording with either a touch or a Siri command.
Of course, you could also trigger the Siri shortcut via an NFC tag.

Definitely possible! You may need to install Timery. My understanding is that it does a much better job of providing automations around Toggl timers. After that, it’s just a matter of setting up the shortcuts NFC automation to call the timery action to start/stop the timer

Amazing. Thanks guys.

How do I set up a shortcut to start or stop the timer using Timery?

I have Timery app already installed so good to go with that

Create a shortcut something like this

This is perfect! Thank you so much!
