After becoming frustrated with a recent software change that broke some of my Elgato Stream Deck driven automations I decided to dig in and see if I could figure out how to create a Stream Deck plugin to fulfil my own automation needs. The result is my Mac Automation plugin.
As with most of the stuff I create to scratch my own itch, I decided to see if I could give it a bit of polish and make it available to a wider audience. It was a lot of hoops to jump through (including a new website - see below), but the result is now a FREE Stream Deck plugin available via the official Elgato Marketplace.
The Mac Automation plugin currently offers the following Stream Deck actions:
- Run Open
- Run Shell Command
- Run AppleScript (Script)
- Run JXA (Script)
- HTTP Request (curl)
- Run Shortcut (Manual)
- Run Shortcut (From List)
- Run KM Macro (Manual)
- Run KM Macro (From List)
Documentation, including examples, for each action, can be found on the Mac Automation plugin page at Stream Deck Stash. This page also includes the marketplace download link and links for support/. Support is also where you can submit suggestions if there are any automation triggers the plugin doesn’t cater for and you would like me to consider for a future update.
