I can create a Send Message shortcut that sends some text without intervention (Message app does not open). However, if I try to send a file this way, the app is opened regardless of the “open in app” setting. Is this a limitation of Send message action and is there some way around it?
It does the same for me when I try it - even if the attachment is “small” in data size. Given the only way to send an attachment via Shortcuts is this one option I would imagine that this comes down to one of two things.
- A limitation - that would need to be worked around by the developers.
- A bug - that would need to be fixed by the developers.
Either way, the best way to try and get a change in behaviour is by reporting it to Apple via their feedback app.
