Back when I used Android, I have an app called llama to do a lot of location/area base trigger automation.
Location: It makes use of the phone cellular tower your phone current connected to to detect location, so it does not drain your battery.
I’m not sure if Llama is in active development anymore, it’s last update was 2014. I think Tasker does all of the things Llama does plus more.
in terms of geofencing etc. you need the AutoLocation (click) for tasker.
