sending rich text via markdown for emails has never worked on the Mac (with shortcuts) and now with ios17 its broken on iOS and iPadOS too
can anyone speak to this being a solution for both those problems?

That being said, as a heavy user of Drafts, I find the subscription good value.
Maybe, but you can get use cases where it is not ideal. For example this recent one where confirmation requires manual intervention or another automation on top with another tool.
Given the subscription situation, I would recommend trying it for your use case.
