Help with shortcut: Extract email address and copy to an iOS Note

Hi All,

I’m trying to create an automation/shortcut or a share action that copies/extracts the address of the person sending me a message to master Notes note. I have students who email me at the start of the semester and I want to create a master list for later contact. I just want a Notes document, not, say, create a full-fledged contact.

I’ve made some headway, but the share function I created seems to copy both mine and the sender’s address each time, and more puzzling, the Share action only shows up for some emails and not others. I have no idea why.

Can you share what you have so far and how you are triggering it?

I just uploaded a photo of my workflow, so far. No trigger, just planning to use a share sheet function.

Okay. Are you using the standard mail app or something else; only Apple’s mail app is still lacking any share sheet functionality as far as I can tell - which would mean no sharevsheet to feed your shortcut :frowning:

If you are using something else then we can review against whatever data that app is sharing.

I float between Spark and Airmail, but currently focused on Airmail.
