Elementary Shortcuts Question

My DuckDuckGo-ing didn’t yield any answers, so I wonder if anyone here might be able to help.

I have a Lock Screen widget (replacing the Flashlight control) set to a shortcut that uses the Due action to add a Due reminder. I leave the variables blank in the Shortcuts action, so it opens Due to the entry screen, which is exactly what I’d like. In the Shortcut, I have a “Stop Shortcut” action after the Due action.

But after I input the new reminder in Due, the Shortcut remains running in the background (I can see it in the Dynamic Island).

How do I allow the Shortcut to terminate after I have entered the Due reminder? I have tried “Stop Shortcut” and “Stop and Output,” and neither works. It seems like “control” doesn’t go back to Shortcuts once it launches Due.

Any guidance? Thanks!

Try launching this URL from your shortcut:

due:///add

Yes there are three forward slashes in the above URL on purpose.

Thanks! I just gave that a whirl, but the shortcut still stays, seemingly “hung,” in the dynamic island after I enter the Due reminder.

Strange. If that is the last action in the shortcut, the shortcut should simply complete and end at the point it triggers the launch. That URL doesn’t have a return.

I obviously can’t guarantee a change in behaviour, but maybe try a restart of your device in case something’s just hung up internally. Whenever I get something strange I reboot just to ensure it isn’t something else weird affecting what I’m looking at.

Did a reboot. Same behavior. Initiate the shortcut, and Due launches to the add reminder window, and a “shortcut in progress” shows up in the Dynamic Island. Enter the reminder, whatever I do (exit Due, etc), “shortcut in progress” indicator remains in the DI. Odd.
