Announcing Menu Box

It’s been a busy few months over at Snailed It Industries, and we’re very excited to be able to announce the release of our newest app — Menu Box.

As some of you may know Alex Hay was working on Menu Box when he tragically passed away, and we are truly honoured to have been entrusted by his family and the community at large to continue his legacy and be able to release it.

Menu Box is an app designed to provide beautiful custom menus for use in your advanced Shortcuts. Menu Items are fully customisable, allowing you to add an emoji, SF Symbol, existing App Icon, or your own image, as well as allowing you to add a data payload to be read in via your Shortcuts.

Menu Box helps make your Shortcuts even more powerful and is especially perfect when paired with the Action Button. You know, in case there is any news about that in the next few days. :eyes:

@RosemaryOrchard

Congrats!

Two questions.

  1. Does it work on macOS? The Mac App Store says “Not verified for macOS”, but then in the compatibility section it indicates that it does.
  2. What does the “Premium” in app charge provide?

Thanks.

  1. macOS version was initially held up by app review (the “not verified” version was the iOS app running on Apple Silicon) but is now available.
  2. Removes limits on the number of menu sets (2) and number of menu items per set (4); unlocks some extra shortcuts and alternate app icons; supports us so we can continue improving the app.

Thank you for the prompt reply.

Some suggestions.

  1. Add the info from answer two to the website and App Store descriptions.
  2. Indicate that the premium payment is annual, and thus (disappointingly) a subscription.

Cheers.

According to the announcement I got via email from Snailed It for Menu Box, like Working Copy, the subscription unlocks all new features for the year. After that you keep the unlocked features, but only unlock new ones if you are (re-)subscribed.

I’ve not seen this presented anywhere online, but it perhaps puts a different perspective again on the subscription.

It is also on the in-app details though.
