Adding URL to reminder from shortcuts

I have a shortcut putting article links in DT into a reminders list called “to read”
What I’d like to be able to do is add the item links to my reminders list as clickable links/URL’s (in the notes field?)

the difference is shown below:

Even though the 2nd url is clickable in macOS reminders, it’s not on iOS.
Which makes it a pain to use.

The first entry makes it a url:

the second a note:

Schermafbeelding 2020-01-10 om 14.51.08

So far I’ve only be able to add a note, not a url.
any thoughts or alternatives?
(note: Omnifocus is not an alternative, I do not want reference material/reading list item to mix with my tasks)

I’m afraid I don’t think you can do exactly what you are trying to do at the moment, as there is no programatic access to the Reminders URL field from Shortcuts (or from anywhere else that I’m aware of).

As a workaround you could do the following in Shortcuts

  • Create the reminder
  • Copy the URL to the clipboard
  • Open your “to read” reminders list

You’d then have to manually open the entry and paste the URL into the reminder.

Another option is to have the document open in DEVONthink and then ask Siri to “remind me about this”, which does create a reminder with a clickable link, although interestingly this doesn’t appear to use the URL field.
