Photos > Location > Upload to Google Photos

Hi all

Long time listener, first time caller.

I have a job where I do so many random things, that I need to start automating some of it to make my life a bit easier!

First question…

I take a lot of photos on my iPhone that my team needs to use for marketing etc.
Is there a way that every time I take a photo that has a specific location, it is tagged, maybe moved into a Smart folder (or even something similar on the phone itself) and then it is uploaded to Google Photos for the team to use?

Very random and maybe I am just clutching at straws, but I thought this would be the best place to ask…

Thanks!
Claire

Hi Claire, yes, there must be a way to do that. I think you’d want a shortcut that would run in the evening from a personal automation and loop over photos you took today, get the location from each photo, calculate the distance from that location to the location you want, and if it’s close, save the photo to a shared album or folder.
A separate process (I don’t know about) could move photos from there to Google photos.
